“Sea-Can City” is a military training facility located in Area ‘O’ of the Canadian Forces Base Petawawa. The simulated village consists of 37 buildings fabricated using 101 ISO shipping containers or “Sea-Cans”.
Dymech Engineering was contracted to provide design verification, produce shop drawings, fabricate and finish the building modules, prepare the installation site and install the buildings.
The modifications made to the containers include installing doors, windows, interior partitions, stairways and railings.
The project was completed in March, 2008 - approximately 6 months after contract award. The facility is mainly used for simulated patrol excercises and FIBUA (Fighting in Built-up Areas) Training.
